
Measurement of Glycemic Index of Some food
First stage students from Nutrition and Dietetics Department in introduction to human nutrition course have measured the ability of some food items to raise the blood sugar through a limited time, which is known as glycemic index.
They chose different breakfast meals like bread, yoghurt, some types of cheese and also honey and some types of jam.
During the test, Mr.Yaseen Galali the lecturer of the subject explained to the students the factors that affects glycemic index and post-prandial blood glucose and how it affects health status of individuals.
