Media Department Participates in Artistic Activities as Part of the Violence Against Women Campaign

On the occasion of the 16 Days of Activism: Violence Against Women campaign, on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, the Media Department organized several artistic activities at the campus of Cihan University–Erbil in coordination with both the Kurdistan Photo Organization and REPAK Organization.

The activity was attended by Professor Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi, President of Cihan University–Erbil; Dr. Nawzad Yahya Bajger, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Cihan Institutes and Universities; the head and lecturers of the Media Department; and a large number of university students. A theatrical performance titled “Breaking the Mirror” was presented, expressing the voices, power, and experiences of women—voices that deserve to be heard and recognized—and highlighting the need to break the barriers placed before their hopes and dreams.

During the same event, a photography exhibition by Hersh Ghafour and an art exhibition by Dunya Sabah were displayed, with both exhibitions focusing on portraying the effects of violence committed against women.

The Media Department at Cihan University–Erbil places great importance on such official occasions and consistently participates through impactful media messages, contributing to raising awareness within society.
