Media Department Students Conduct a Scientific Seminar on the Future of Artificial Intelligence at a School in Erbil
In continuation of their scientific activities, on Monday, February 2, 2026, a group of fourth-stage students from the Department of Media at Cihan University–Erbil, under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Dlan Ismail Mawlood, conducted a seminar titled “The Future of Artificial Intelligence” at Sharistani Girls’ School.
The students Solin Tayeb, Media Shakir, and Duha Arjumant were warmly welcomed by Ms. Runak Yaqub Hussein, the school principal, who expressed her appreciation for the students’ initiative and the efforts of the Department of Media.
The first part of the seminar was presented by Solin Tayeb, who explained the concept of Artificial Intelligence in detail. She described AI as a modern technological revolution that simulates human intelligence in problem-solving. She emphasized that AI is not merely a machine, but an intelligent system capable of learning and continuous development.
In the second part, Media Shakir discussed the risks associated with Artificial Intelligence, focusing on issues such as deepfakes and the blurring of boundaries between reality and fiction. She provided important guidelines on protecting personal data and avoiding misleading information generated by AI technologies. She stressed the importance of using AI responsibly as a supportive tool rather than a substitute for independent thinking.
In the third and final part of the seminar, Duha Arjuman highlighted the positive and beneficial aspects of Artificial Intelligence, particularly its role as an intelligent assistant in learning foreign languages. She presented live examples, including the use of smart platforms to summarize books, organize study schedules, and assist students in understanding complex subjects such as mathematics and science, thereby making the learning process faster and more enjoyable.
In conclusion, Ms. Runak Yaqub Hussein, the principal of Sharistani Girls’ School, expressed her gratitude to the students for their informative presentation and for raising awareness among the school’s students about Artificial Intelligence technology.
