To raise community awareness on various social issues, fourth-stage students from the Department of Media at Cihan University–Erbil, under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Ahmed Jamal Hama Karim, conducted two field awareness campaigns in the popular market of the Nawroz neighbourhood.
On Tuesday, January 27, 2026, a group of three fourth-stage Media students Rebwar Mohammed, Dalia Wasfi, and Heba Hisham organized an awareness campaign titled ‘Healthy Food, Healthy Lifea’. The campaign took place in the popular market of the Nawroz neighbourhood. The distributed publications clearly highlighted the characteristics of healthy nutrition and its role in maintaining both physical and mental balance. In addition, the students raised awareness among citizens and shopkeepers about the serious risks of unhealthy foods and the chronic diseases that may result from not following a proper dietary system.
On Wednesday, January 28, 2026, another group of fourth-stage Media students Avin Bahjat, Arazu Ali, and Zuhaila Yousif conducted a second awareness campaign titled ‘Work with Artificial Intelligence, Live with Human Intelligence.’ The distributed materials focused on the key benefits of artificial intelligence in facilitating daily life and improving work efficiency. Moreover, the campaign emphasized the importance of using AI as a supportive tool rather than a complete replacement for human roles and responsibilities.
Field awareness campaigns are among the core practical activities of the Department of Media at Cihan University–Erbil. These initiatives aim to enhance public awareness of important and contemporary community issues while providing students with hands-on experience that connects theoretical classroom learning with real-world application.
