On Sunday, January 25, 2026, the Media department students delivered an awareness seminar on environmental pollution and methods of environmental protection at Chra Fast Learning School for Girls in Erbil. The activity was conducted under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Dlan Ismail Mawlood and presented by fourth-stage Media Department students Chyan Mahdi and Zuhaila Yusuf. The principal of Chra Fast Learning School for Girls, Ms. Razaw Karim Faraj, warmly received the visiting students and praised their initiative to raise environmental awareness among the pupils.
In the first part of the seminar, Chyan Mahdi explained the concept of environmental pollution and identified the main factors threatening the natural environment. She emphasized that environmental pollution is a global issue that must be addressed through early awareness, particularly by educating individuals from a young age on how to interact responsibly with their environment.
In the second part, Zuhaila Yusuf focused on practical methods for protecting the environment from pollution. She highlighted the importance of expanding green spaces, planting trees, recycling materials, and reducing waste. In her concluding remarks, she encouraged the pupils to become friends of the environment and to view maintaining the cleanliness of their school and neighborhoods as both a national and humanitarian responsibility.
At the end of the activity, the principal of Chra Fast Learning School for Girls expressed her appreciation to the students from Cihan University–Erbil for their informative presentation and voiced her hope for the continuation of similar activities to enhance individual and social awareness of critical environmental issues.
