Media Department Students Participate in the Fourth Book Fair and Ashti Festival

On Sunday, November 30, 2025, a group of students from the Department of Media at Cihan University-Erbil, under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Ahmed Jamal Hama Karim, participated in the Fourth Book Fair and Ashti festival in the city of Erbil.

The cultural activity was held at Media Hall in Erbil, with the participation of third- and fourth-stage students from the Department of Media. The activity began with the students attending a poetry evening organized for the writer and poet Talaat Tahir, who spoke about the role of literature in the modern era and presented a selection of his poetic works to the audience.

After the poetry session, the students toured the festival’s book fair, where they explored the latest published scientific and cultural resources available in various languages.

Participating in cultural activities and events is an effective way to enhance cultural and scientific awareness while strengthening continuous communication between academic institutions and civil society organizations. With this goal in mind, the Department of Media at Cihan University-Erbil actively engages in such events.
