Media Department Students Present a Seminar on Effective Study Methods at Ashti Primary School
On Wednesday, October 21, 2026, second-year students from the Media Department at Cihan University–Erbil, under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Dlan Ismail Mawlood, presented a scientific seminar entitled “Effective Study Methods” to sixth-grade pupils at Ashti Mixed Primary School. At the beginning of the activity, Ms. Shilan Aziz, the school principal, welcomed the Media Department student team.
The Best Study Methods:
In the first part of the seminar, student Dunya Saadi Mho discussed the importance of studying and the impact of effective study methods on understanding and remembering information. She explained that pupils should not rely solely on memorizing information but should also make an effort to understand their subjects thoroughly and study in an organized manner. She also discussed the importance of time management and creating a daily study schedule, pointing out that dividing study materials into different time periods helps pupils prepare more effectively for examinations.
Effective Study Techniques:
In the second part of the seminar, student Ronia Mohsin Ayoub discussed effective study techniques, including writing summaries, identifying key points, reviewing information, and solving sample questions. She pointed out that using these techniques can help pupils better understand their subjects and improve their academic performance.
In the final part of the seminar, student Roza Sherwan Haji discussed the importance of maintaining a calm environment and concentrating while studying. She explained that providing a suitable environment free from distractions can help pupils focus more effectively on their lessons. She also pointed out that understanding subjects, asking questions when something is unclear, and making continuous efforts are important steps toward achieving better academic results.
Finally, Ms. Shilan Aziz, the principal of Ashti Mixed Primary School, expressed her thanks and appreciation to the Media Department students at Cihan University–Erbil for presenting the seminar and contributing to raising pupils’ awareness of effective study methods.
