Media Department Students Present Seminar on Political Media and Public Opinion
On Wednesday, January 28, 2026, a group of third-stage students from the Media Department at Cihan University–Erbil, under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Dlan Ismael Mawlood, visited the Ayinda District Committee and delivered a seminar titled “Political Media and Its Influence on Public Opinion.”
The students Mohammed Ghani, Shapol Mohammed, and Ali Omer were received by Mr. Soran Barzan Khairi, Media Coordinator for students at Cihan, Tishk, Sabis, and Gasha universities. He commended their initiative in raising awareness of this important topic.
In the first part of the seminar, Mohammed Ghani provided an overview of political media and the scientific principles that shape public opinion. In the second part, Shapol Mohammed discussed the tools used in political media and analyzed the strategic objectives pursued by different parties through their media messages. In the final segment, Ali Omer explained how individuals and society can protect themselves from propaganda and identify misleading political media.
At the end of the visit, the Media Department expressed gratitude to the students for delivering this informative seminar. They praised the students’ high academic standards and capabilities, highlighting the importance of educating citizens to distinguish between responsible political media and harmful propaganda.
