Biomedical Sciences Department Students Organize Humanitarian Visit to Nanakali Hospital
Third-stage students from the Department of Biomedical Sciences organized a humanitarian visit to Nanakali Hospital for Blood Diseases and Cancer on Thursday, February 19, 2026, to support patients and celebrate the spiritual occasions of the holy month of Ramadan and the Christian 50-day fasting period. The activity was conducted under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Hero Ismael Mohammed.
Upon arrival, the students were warmly received by Mr. Krmanj Mohammed Omar, Administrative Manager of the hospital. They toured the children’s wards, laboratories, and blood sampling unit, interacting closely with young patients and medical staff. They also distributed gifts to the children and engaged with them compassionately, seeking to bring joy, encouragement, and comfort. The initiative also focused on providing emotional support to patients and their families throughout their treatment journey.
Mr. Krmanj Mohammed expressed his appreciation for the initiative and commended the students’ efforts in supporting pediatric patients. The patients’ families likewise extended their gratitude to the students and the Department of Biomedical Sciences at Cihan University-Erbil for their kindness, motivation, and meaningful humanitarian contribution.
