Medical Laboratory Analysis Department Students Visited Valia Private Hospital

On Tuesday, February 18, 2025, second-stage students from the Medical Laboratory Analysis Department visited a laboratory at Valia Private Hospital under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Nizar Ibrahim Youssef and the management of Mr. Amanj Jalal Suleiman.

During the visit, the students took a tour of the laboratory and the devices available there. Mr. Ahmed Majeed Khorshid, the laboratory supervisor, gave a detailed explanation of the information required from the patient. In the beginning, the patients’ names and personal information were obtained, followed by recording their medical history and asking them several important questions, especially if the tests required fasting for several hours. Mr. Ahmed Khorshid then added the different blood collection techniques available to them and provided general explanations of all the devices available in the hospital and the foundations of their work. He introduced the students to the Blood Bank Department and explained the details of this department.

Finally, the students thanked the Valia Hospital staff for their wonderful reception, and also the laboratory team for their time and valuable information given during the visit. This visit aimed to introduce the second-year students of the Medical Laboratory Analysis Department to the wide field of analysis with its various devices and departments.
