Medical Microbiology Students Visited Floria Medical Laboratory in Erbil

On Thursday, October 23, 2025, third-year students from the Department of Medical Microbiology at Cihan University – Erbil visited Floria Medical Laboratory in Erbil. The visit was organized under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed Nawzad Hasan from the Medical Microbiology Department.

Upon arrival, the students and supervising staff were warmly received by Dr. Niyaz Sardar Assad, the Owner and Director of Floria Medical Laboratory. During the visit, Dr. Niyaz introduced the students to the laboratory’s advanced diagnostic sections, including hematology, clinical chemistry, microbiology, and molecular testing units. The students observed the workflow of automated analyzers, specimen processing, and biosafety protocols implemented within the facility. They also had the opportunity to interact with technical specialists and gain practical insights into the diagnostic methods used for bacterial and biochemical analyses.

The visit concluded with an interactive discussion between the students and the laboratory’s professional team, during which questions about advanced diagnostic techniques and laboratory management were addressed. The supervising faculty expressed their gratitude to Dr. Niyaz and the Floria Laboratory team for their cooperation and for enhancing students’ practical understanding of medical diagnostics.
