
Meeting Held at Cihan University-Erbil on the Issue of 12th-Grade Academic Results

On Wednesday, September 9, 2026, the Science Zakat Foundation Council convened its weekly meeting at Cihan University-Erbil. The session was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Education, alongside faculty members, educational experts, and specialists, to evaluate twelfth-grade academic results and student pass rates.
During the session, Professor Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi, President of Cihan University-Erbil, noted that the Science Zakat Foundation is the first officially licensed institution of its kind in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, operating for a year and a half. He explained that the concept of zakat extends beyond financial contributions to include the voluntary sharing of academic expertise by postgraduate degree holders through an institutional framework. He further stated that the foundation organizes annual conferences and coordinates voluntary teams across Cihan universities, institutes, and schools.
Additionally, Dr. Nawzad Yahya Bajger, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Cihan Universities and Institutes, highlighted the importance of integrating voluntary educational initiatives into community culture, encouraging academics and professionals to disseminate knowledge. The event concluded with a discussion session during which participants submitted recommendations and proposals regarding the meeting’s core topics.
