Northern Technical University Visits the Cihan University–Erbil

On Monday, December 8, 2025, the Department of Computer Science at Cihan University–Erbil received an academic delegation from Northern Technical University. This visit was part of ongoing efforts to strengthen scientific cooperation and exchange expertise between educational institutions in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq.

The Computer Science Department was the main stop of the visit, where the teaching staff welcomed the delegation and presented a comprehensive overview of the university’s history, academic vision, and diverse educational programs. The presentation also covered the department’s academic structure and approved curricula, with a particular focus on its continuous development, including the establishment of new branches and specializations such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Cybersecurity. These efforts reflect the department’s belief in the growing importance of these fields in keeping pace with modern technological advancements.

The presentation further included a detailed explanation of the mechanisms used to align the department’s courses with labor market needs. This alignment is achieved by integrating practical skills, applied projects, and modern technologies that prepare students to compete in fields such as programming, networking, artificial intelligence, and database management.

At the end of the visit, the guest delegation thanked Cihan University–Erbil for the warm reception and valuable information, praising the university’s efforts in enhancing the quality of education and achieving integration between academic and professional practices. Both parties affirmed their desire to continue mutual cooperation through development, training, and scientific research programs.
