Physical Education and Sports Science Students Defeat Anesthesia Techniques Students in the Semi-Finals

In a match held on Sunday, February 8, 2026, to determine a spot in the finals, the teams of the Physical Education and Sports Science Department and the Anesthesia Techniques Department faced each other once again as part of the internal university football league competitions at Cihan University – Erbil.

Both teams had skillfully advanced to the semi-finals in the previous stages, each aspiring to become a finalist. To achieve this goal, both teams arrived at the field well-prepared.

With the referee’s opening whistle, the Physical Education and Sports Science students started the match on the offensive, aiming to force their opponents into retreat from the outset. This was exactly the plan executed by their coach, and they managed to score an early goal. In response, the Anesthesia Techniques students mobilized to equalize the score. However, as in previous matches, the Physical Education team’s defensive line and goalkeeper defended with great courage and skill, and the first half ended in this manner.

At the start of the second half, the roles reversed. The Physical Education students began defending, while the Anesthesia Techniques students launched attacks. After several attempts and missed opportunities, they were unable to score the equalizing goal. Meanwhile, the Physical Education students relied on counter-attacks and managed to score two additional goals, dashing the hopes of the Anesthesia Techniques students.

The match ended with a score of 3–0, and the Physical Education and Sports Science Department students qualified as the second team for the final match. The final is scheduled to be held soon between the Media Department students and the Physical Education and Sports Science Department students.
