Physical Education and Sports Science Students Participate in the West Asian Countries Badminton Championship
Students from the Department of Physical Education and Sports Science participated in the activities of the West Asian Countries Badminton Championship. On 19 November 2025, the championship began with the participation of seven Arab national teams: Iraq, Qatar, Bahrain, the Sultanate of Oman, Lebanon, Palestine, and Syria. The event was held at the university sports hall and continued until 26 November 2025.
On Tuesday, 25 November 2025, a group of third- and fourth-stage students from the Department of Physical Education and Sports Science at Cihan University–Erbil, supervised by Assistant Lecturer Ahmad Said, visited the championship. They were warmly welcomed by Mr. Heval Abdulaziz, President of the Iraqi Badminton Federation.
The matches were conducted in a highly professional and athletic environment. The students had the opportunity to closely observe the procedures of organizing international championships and managing sports competitions according to global standards, particularly in the areas of supervision, refereeing, and event coordination. This experience provided them with practical insight into officiating matches and supporting international players during competitions.
It is worth noting that this championship was organized under the supervision of the Iraqi Badminton Federation.
