Physical Education and Sports Sciences Secure a Dominant Win Over the Translation Department
The Physical Education and Sports Sciences students’ team secured an emphatic victory after defeating the Translation Department students’ team 6–0 on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, as part of the Internal Football League of Cihan University–Erbil.
The match was played in the second stage of the tournament and featured a highly competitive encounter marked by intensity, tactical discipline, and strong technical performance. The Translation Department team aimed to prove that their advancement to this stage resulted from effort and ability rather than chance, while the Physical Education and Sports Sciences team sought to send a clear message that they are strong contenders for the championship title.
From the opening whistle, the Physical Education and Sports Sciences team took full control of the match, dominating possession and scoring two early goals. In response, the Translation Department team created a few limited attacking attempts, none of which posed a serious threat. The first half ended with this scoreline.
In the second half often referred to as the ‘coaches half’’ the Physical Education and Sports Sciences coach effectively exploited the opponent’s weaknesses. As a result, the team added three more goals in quick succession. Meanwhile, the Translation Department attempted to respond with occasional long-range shots, but the goalkeeper delivered an outstanding performance, denying every effort.
As the match drew to a close, the Physical Education and Sports Sciences players continued to impress with fluid movement and accurate passing, frustrating their opponents. In the final minutes, the team’s striker sealed the victory by scoring the sixth goal, concluding the match with a 6–0 win and securing qualification for the next round of the tournament.
