Preparations for Starting English Language Courses by American Trainers

After the recent visit of a group of American teachers and trainers to Cihan University – Erbil for the purpose of organizing English language courses for university students, interviews were conducted for the first group of applicants for the course with the aim of determining their English language level. The interview was on Wednesday 10/11/2021 in the conference hall at the university campus. Eight teachers and around 120 students from different departments participated in this oral test, under the supervision of the Assistant Lecturer Pola Tahsin Mohammed, head of the Department of English.

After selecting a first group of applicants to participate in this course, the head of the delegation promised to bring more teachers and trainers in order to accommodate a larger number of participants. They also confirmed that these courses will continue after the end of the first session. A number of activities have been organized, especially for the participants, for the purpose of raising their English language competency and cultural awareness, and that they won’t use traditional methods in teaching, but will use new techniques that are implemented in classrooms nowadays. At the end, the participants appreciated the trainers and the presidency of the university for providing them with these precious opportunities and stressed that they are waiting for more activities.
