Professor Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi, President of Cihan University-Erbil Participates in MEDICO 2026 International Health Conference and Exhibition
On Wednesday, August 12, 2026, Professor Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi, President of Cihan University-Erbil, participated in the opening of the MEDICO 2026 International Health Conference and Exhibition, held at the Erbil International Fair.
The event brought together a distinguished group of academics, researchers, and specialists in the medical and health fields, along with representatives of 150 local and international companies. It serves as a strategic platform for exchanging expertise and showcasing the latest medical technologies.
During the conference, Ariana Sheikh Khalis Barzanji, President of the Kurdistan Higher Council of Medical Specialties, delivered a presentation highlighting the Council’s recent developments, including the digitalization of its administrative system and the signing of memoranda of understanding with international institutions. She noted that the Council had received more than 500 scientific research papers from trainees in Erbil, Duhok, and Sulaymaniyah, contributing to the development of the health sector and the improvement of medical services in the Kurdistan Region.
A special panel was also held to discuss the future and opportunities of national pharmaceutical and medical supply factories. The panel emphasized that these factories form an essential part of the country’s healthcare infrastructure and should be developed in accordance with the highest quality standards.
As part of his participation, Professor Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi toured various sections of the exhibition and viewed advanced medical devices and technologies. He also held several meetings and discussions with representatives of medical companies and institutions to explore opportunities for scientific and academic cooperation.
The four-day event features several scientific panels addressing the future of the health sector and the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in medicine. Experts and specialists will also discuss how international experiences can be utilized to strengthen and further develop the health sector in the Kurdistan Region.
