As part of the International Academic Exchange Program, designed to broaden students’ scientific horizons, Professor Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi, President of Cihan University–Erbil, received a new cohort of students scheduled to depart for Poland in the coming days to complete a full academic semester.
The meeting, held on Thursday, February 19, 2026, was attended by the university’s vice presidents, heads of scientific departments, and the students’ families. The delegation consists of seven students who will be attending the Warsaw University of Life Sciences and the University of Lodz in Poland.
During the meeting, Professor Dr. Amjad emphasized the high academic standing of Polish universities, noting that the acceptance of Cihan University–Erbil students by such prestigious institutions is a clear testament to the international confidence in the university’s scientific standards and curricula. He stated that the continuous dispatch of student groups reflects the success of previous programs and the satisfaction of global universities with the academic caliber of Cihan University–Erbil students. The President further explained that there is no fundamental difference between the educational systems of Cihan University–Erbil and European universities, as both strictly adhere to the Bologna Process, which enhances students’ confidence in their programs and faculty. He encouraged the students to view this opportunity as a gateway to pursuing future Master’s and PhD studies, particularly given Poland’s welcoming cultural environment and affordable cost of living.
Furthermore, Professor Dr. Amjad urged the students to act as ‘Scientific and Cultural Ambassadors,’ representing both the university and the Kurdistan Region with dignity. He emphasized the importance of preserving their cultural, religious, and national values and traditions, noting that true progress is achieved by integrating science and knowledge with high moral standards, rather than through the superficial imitation of foreign cultures.
The President concluded the meeting by instructing the students to maintain continuous communication with their respective departments. He assigned them the academic mission of sharing their newly acquired experiences and knowledge with their peers through specialized seminars upon their return. He also expressed his gratitude to the students’ families for their unwavering support in making this national academic project a success.
