Professor Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi President of Cihan University-Erbil Receives Students Departing for an International Training Course in the Czech Republic
In line with its strategic internationalization goals and commitment to fostering cultural and scientific exchange programs, Cihan University-Erbil has dispatched four students from its scientific departments to participate in a specialized training course on “Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE)” at the prestigious Palacký University Olomouc in the Czech Republic.
On Thursday, June 18, 2026, Professor Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi, President of Cihan University-Erbil, held a special meeting with the selected students and their families. The meeting, attended by the university’s vice presidents and several department heads, featured essential guidance and recommendations from his excellency emphasized that this journey is more than just a scientific trip; it is an opportunity to cross academic boundaries and engage with global standards of excellence.
Preserving Identity and Cultural Values
In his address, Professor Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi underscored the importance of cultural integrity, stating: “Every student traveling abroad represents Cihan University and serves as an ambassador for the Kurdistan Region and Iraq. Therefore, you must remain steadfast in your adherence to the university’s standards and the religious and social principles of your upbringing.” He noted that true progress is found in acquiring science and knowledge, not in the superficial imitation of foreign customs, urging students to be exemplary models of morality and humanity in the host country.
Sustainability and Future Prospects
Reflecting on the success of previous international programs, the President revealed that the university has consistently dispatched student cohorts over the past five years, including two groups currently studying in Poland. “Our goal is not just travel, but for you to gain scientific expertise that you can share with your peers and the university upon your return,” he said. He further emphasized that this initiative serves as a gateway for students to familiarize themselves with the global academic environment, paving the way for future Master’s and PhD pursuits at world-class universities.
The meeting concluded with Professor Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi expressing his gratitude to the parents and faculty members for their unwavering support. In turn, the students and their families praised the leadership of Cihan University-Erbil for creating such diverse opportunities for professional and personal development.
At the end of the meeting, the students and their families expressed their sincere appreciation to the university presidency and staff for creating such transformative opportunities, which enable students to sharpen their professional skills and gain invaluable international experience.
It is worth to mention that this training program is a direct outcome of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in late 2024 between Prof. Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi and Prof. MUDr. Martin Procházka, Rector of Palacký University Olomouc. The opportunity was officially announced to the student body last November.
