Scientific Festival for Summarizing Media Books

On Wednesday May 5, 2021, Media Department, Cihan University-Erbil organized a scientific festival for media book summaries, which was held in the VIP hall with the participation of first year students. Two students, Nali Omar Khosr and Rapper Khalil Hassan presented a seminar on summarizing one of the media books about press image, its importance and its functions in the media work.

     Then, another student Ahmed Salam Adel presented a seminar in which he summarized an informative book entitled ‘TV production’, its stages and the director’s role in it. Sarwen Muhammad Amin also presented a summary of the media book entitled ‘Media and Political Awareness’. Lastly, Sarwa Kamran Yunus presented a summary of the book ‘Ethics in Media Work’.

     Involving students in such extra-curricular activities is really important to motivate students to read scientific and cultural books in general and media books in particular. Furthermore, students acquire recitation and presentation skills and gain self-confidence in front of others, as it is one of the most important skills that a journalist must possess.
