Scientific Field Visit by Medical Microbiology Students to the Kurdistan Medical Quality Control Agency
On 3 February 2026, fourth-year students from the Department of Medical Microbiology at Cihan University–Erbil conducted a scientific field visit to the Kurdistan Medical Quality Control Agency under the supervision of Dr. Hassan Mahmood Jindal.
Upon arrival, the students were warmly received by Dr. Sherwan Sadq Ali, Manager of the Kurdistan Medical Quality Control Agency. The visit included an official orientation session led by Mr. Sardar Salem Sabr, Supervisor at the agency, who provided a comprehensive overview of its structure, responsibilities, and operational mechanisms. He explained the agency’s role in monitoring medical products, ensuring quality standards, and safeguarding public health through effective regulatory oversight.
During the visit, the students were introduced to the agency’s various departments and were briefed on procedures related to medical quality control, inspection processes, and compliance with national health regulations. The interactive session enabled the students to ask questions and gain deeper insight into how theoretical knowledge in medical microbiology is applied within governmental health institutions.
The visit concluded with an engaging discussion between the students and agency officials, leaving a positive impression on all participants. The field trip significantly enhanced the students’ understanding of medical quality control systems and provided valuable insight into future professional pathways in medical microbiology and public health regulation.
