On Sunday, September 20, 2026, fourth-year students from the Department of Architectural Engineering at Cihan University–Erbil conducted a scientific field visit to Divan Hotel Erbil.

The visit was prepared and supervised by Professor Dr. Rashed Hamed Yaseen and Assistant Lecturer Lana Shahab Ahmed. The students were officially received by Engineer Manager Alper Ozgurun.

During the visit, Engineer Manager Alper Ozgurun introduced the students to the hotel’s general layout, functional organization, and mechanical systems. He explained the relationship between the different spaces, circulation areas, service areas, and technical infrastructure of the hotel.

He also explained the architectural and design aspects related to the course, connecting the students’ practical observations with their academic design projects. The students discussed hotel planning, spatial organization, functional zoning, and the integration of mechanical systems within architectural design.

The visit provided the students with valuable field observations to support their fourth-year design projects. As one of the prominent and iconic hotels in Erbil, Divan Hotel Erbil also provided an important case study of contemporary hospitality architecture in the city.
