Scientific Visit of Accounting Department Students to the Directorate of the Small Youth Projects Support Fund in Erbil
On Monday, February 2, 2026, the Accounting Department at Cihan University–Erbil organized a scientific visit for Third -year accounting students to Directorate of the Small Youth Projects Support Fund, under the supervision of Dr. Ibrahim Hussein.
The students were warmly received by the Director of the Fund, Mr. Aram Anwar, and the Director of Administration, Mr. Nahrro Johar. The Director of the Fund delivered a comprehensive explanation about the directorate, its departments, duties, branches, objectives, and the responsibilities of each department. The students also toured several departments, including the Technical Support Department, the Accounting Department, the Audit Department, and the Fund Archive.
Ms. Chawan Mohammed Yaseen presented a detailed presentation using a display screen on the steps involved in granting loans to support small youth projects. The presentation covered the process starting from submitting the loan application to the directorate, the required documents, and the purpose of the loan, which includes financing a first-time project or supporting an existing project, provided that the study of the existing project aims at increasing or improving production. The directorate conducts a feasibility study for the project and determines the required amount of financing, provided it does not exceed the maximum limit.
Ms. Chawan Mohammed Yaseen also highlighted the importance of accounting and auditing at every stage of the process, starting from the feasibility study and the calculation of financing amounts, through to monitoring project implementation and collecting loan installments. She explained that loans granted to youth are provided as assistance without requiring any guarantor and include a grace period before repayment begins. This is in line with the objectives of the Small Youth Projects Support Fund, which aims to support youth, reduce youth unemployment, contribute to achieving sustainable development goals, raise the standard of living in society, and eliminate poverty. During the presentation, Ms. Jawan and Mr. Aram answered the students’ questions.
At the conclusion of the scientific visit, Dr. Ibrahim Hussein expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to the management and staff of the Directorate of the Small Youth Projects Support Fund for their warm hospitality and valuable presentation on the procedures for granting loans to support small projects, as well as the importance of accounting and auditing in the loan-granting process.
