Session on “Evolving Technologies in Banking and Finance” Conducted at the 5th International Conference on Administrative & Financial Sciences
The “Evolving Technologies in Banking and Finance” session took place on January 30, 2025, during the 5th International Joint Conference on Administrative & Financial Sciences, organized by Cihan University – Erbil in collaboration with the University of Lodz, Poland, and Mosul University, Iraq. The session was chaired by Dr. Fouzan Al-Qaisi, The American University of Madaba of Jordan, and co-chaired by Asst. Lect. Dlovan Wirya Hamadameen , Cihan University – Erbil.
The session began with research presentations from both national and international scholars. Dr. Yahya Ali Kadhim, Baghdad University, discussed using artificial intelligence (AI) techniques, specifically data mining and logistic regression to reduce profit management practices in private Iraqi banks. Dr. Eyad M. Zannrni, University of Aleppo, presented his research on AI’s impact on the liquidity of commercial banks, showing a positive role in enhancing liquidity management at Syrian Commercial Bank.
Asst. Lect. Omar Ali Hussein Kadhim, Baghdad University, addressed the role of financial technology in improving banking services, emphasizing its potential despite challenges like cybersecurity, customer trust, and regulatory issues. He highlighted how fintech collaboration with banks can foster innovation and financial inclusion. Dr. Sinan Abdullah Harjan discussed the positive relationship between strategic planning styles and digital performance in private Iraqi universities.
The session concluded with an interactive discussion, where Dr. Al-Qaisi encouraged questions and reflections. He thanked the presenters and attendees for their valuable contributions and expressed gratitude to Cihan University – Erbil for organizing the event.
