Showcasing Innovation in Health Sciences: Highlights from the 7th Conference for Outstanding Graduation Projects at Cihan University-Erbil
On Sunday, April 27, 2025, as part of the activities of the 7th Conference for Outstanding Graduation Projects, Cihan University–Erbil hosted a distinguished session titled “Multidisciplinary Approaches in Health Sciences: Nutrition, Exercise Therapy, Epidemiology, and Antimicrobial Innovations,” held in the Conference Hall.
The session, conducted from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, was chaired by Professor Dr. Amani Abdelrazaq Elfaki, with Assistant Lecturer Ibrahim Hashim Ibrahim from Cihan University–Erbil serving as co-chair. It featured a series of outstanding research presentations showcasing the creativity and academic excellence of final-year students.
The presentations began with a study by Mujtaba Sabah, a student from the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, who explored the integration of artificial intelligence with Excel for personalized nutrition management and common disease treatment strategies.
Following this, Sara A. Sadaallah presented her work comparing the effects of exercise and dry needling on improving shoulder mobility in cases of frozen shoulder. Next, Hardi O. Rafeeq investigated the association between triglyceride levels and Vitamin D3 deficiency among residents of Erbil City, offering important insights into community health.
The session continued with a presentation by Sayran M. Saadi, who conducted an epidemiological study on the occurrence of urinary stones within the Erbil region, highlighting significant trends and risk factors. In another innovative project, Asma N. Abas investigated the synthesis of Fe₃O₄/Ag nanoparticles, focusing on their structural properties and their potential as antibacterial agents. Finally, Aya Z. Khalaf presented her research on the evaluation of ceftriaxone, levofloxacin, and EDTA in combating biofilm formation by antibiotic-resistant bacteria, shedding light on potential strategies for addressing microbial resistance.
The session concluded with active discussions between the presenters and the audience, reflecting the high scientific caliber of the projects. This event demonstrated Cihan University–Erbil’s commitment to fostering research excellence and promoting innovation among its students.
