A site visit have been carried out by the team of the “Urban Design II & Building Rehabilitation” – Architectural Engineering Department – Cihan University, for the 5th stage, students in groups A & B. The visit has arranged by Dr. Sahar Hilal Al-Dujaili, Mr. Musaab Sami Younus, on Sunday 28th of October 2018. The output from the visit: 1- The sites which are selected for “Urban Design II” project are located in three different areas in Erbil city. • The first site is located on Baharka Road opposite to Lebanese Village • The second site is located near Ainkawa Mall• The Third site is located opposite to Ganjan city.
2- The site which is selected for “Building Rehabilitation” project is located in a specified area (buffer zone) near Erbil Citadel, it is called “Khaneqah neighborhood”. This area characterized by its historical fabric with many types of buildings, some of them are historical buildings with high quality heritage under preservation, others are in bad construction situation need to regeneration
