Students from the Anesthesia Techniques Department Successfully Conduct a Blood Donation Campaign

As part of a voluntary humanitarian initiative, a group of students from the Anesthesia Techniques Department at Cihan University–Erbil organized a blood donation campaign.

The campaign took place on Thursday, October 23, 2025, under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Laila Bahjat Sharif. The students visited the Directorate of Blood Bank in Erbil and, in cooperation with Dr. Runak Abdulrahman from the Blood Bank Directorate, carried out the campaign. A significant number of second- and third-year students from the Anesthesia Techniques Department participated. Initially, the medical team from the Blood Bank conducted the necessary examinations to ensure the safety of each donating student. Subsequently, each student donated blood, which was collected by the blood bank staff. The campaign was carried out smoothly and with the highest level of safety.

In this regard, Dr. Runak praised the students and the ongoing cooperation of Cihan University–Erbil, emphasizing that such initiatives serve as an effective model of partnership between academic institutions and health centers in benefiting the community.

The students then expressed pride in participating in this humanitarian initiative, reaffirming their desire for the continuation of such activities, which promote health awareness and foster a stronger sense of social responsibility.

At the end of the campaign, the Blood Bank Directorate extended its gratitude and appreciation to Cihan University–Erbil and the Head of the Anesthesia Techniques Department, Asst. Prof. Dr. Muhsin Alghezzi, for their continuous cooperation and active participation in supporting health and humanitarian programs that serve the community.
