Students from the Department of Law Visit the Kurdistan Parliament
On Wednesday, November 5, 2025, students from the Law Department at Cihan University – Erbil conducted an academic visit to the Kurdistan Parliament. The visit, which included fourth-year Law students, was supervised by Dr. Ahmed Uzairi.
Upon arrival, the students were warmly received by Mr. Bahman Mam Khula Dizayee, Director of the Monitoring Department, who expressed his appreciation for this initiative aimed at strengthening the relationship between educational and legislative institutions.
Next, the students met with Professor Dr. Waadi Mazouri, an advisor at the Kurdistan Parliament, in the reception hall. During the meeting, he discussed the history of the parliament’s establishment, its powers, and its constitutional and political role within the governance system of the Kurdistan Region.
The students then toured various sections of the parliament, including the parliamentary library. Mr. Mohammed Tahir Pirani, the library director, explained the library’s collections and highlighted that its resources are available to postgraduate students and researchers seeking scientific materials.
The final part of the visit included a tour of the parliament’s general session hall. There, Dr. Bryar Sherko Baban, another parliamentary advisor, explained the procedures for conducting sessions, the voting systems, and the structure of parliamentary blocs and committees.
