Students from the Department of Law Visited a Law Firm in Erbil

On Wednesday, November 6, 2024, a group of Law Department students, supervised by Assistant Lecturer Hisham Hashem, organized an educational visit to the office of Lawyer Counselor Younis Hassan Ismail, a prominent lawyer based in Erbil. This visit aimed to gain insights into real legal work and to acquire practical skills.

During the visit, Lawyer Counselor Younis Hassan Ismail explained to the students the various tasks he performs, which include preparing legal memorandums and representing clients before the courts, and the skills he must have such as negotiation and legal drafting. Additionally, the students were allowed to ask questions and exchange opinions on the challenges facing lawyers in their daily work and how to benefit from academic study in the practical field.

The visit supervisor, Assistant Lecturer Hisham Hashem, emphasized the significance of such field visits with theoretical knowledge and practical skills. He noted that such experiences help enhance students’ understanding of their legal responsibilities and increase their professional awareness.

The students appreciated the experience they gained, expressing a desire for more field activities that would better prepare them for their careers after graduation.
