Students from the Department of Medical Microbiology Conduct Practical Training at Floria Laboratory
On November 4, 2025, the fourth-year students of the Department of Medical Microbiology at Cihan University–Erbil visited Floria Laboratory in Erbil to participate in a hands-on scientific training session. The visit was conducted under the supervision of Dr. Khawaja Shakeel Ahmed, Assistant Professor of Medical Microbiology in the same department.
During the visit, the students were warmly received by Mr. Frya Taib Abdulrahman, Director of Floria Laboratory, who provided a comprehensive overview of the laboratory’s advanced diagnostic and analytical facilities. The students performed practical exercises using sophisticated instruments employed in clinical microbiology and molecular diagnostics. They also observed demonstrations on automated analyzers, culture identification systems, and quality control procedures utilized in modern diagnostic laboratories.
This field training allowed the students to connect theoretical knowledge with real-world laboratory practices, thereby enhancing their technical competence and understanding of professional microbiological workflows.
At the end of the visit, Dr. Khawaja Shakeel Ahmed expressed his appreciation to the management and staff of Floria Laboratory for their cooperation and hospitality. He emphasized that such educational engagements play a vital role in preparing future microbiologists with the essential professional and technical skills.
