Students from the Department of Physiotherapy at Cihan University-Erbil Participated in the National Youth Consultation
On Saturday, 19 July 2025, two students, Hajir Alkanani and Ayoob Sabah Noori, from the Department of Physiotherapy had the honor of participating in the National Youth Consultations on Iraq’s Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC), held at the Van Royal Hotel in Erbil. This event was organized by the Green Generation Initiative in collaboration with UNICEF and brought together young leaders and influential figures from across Iraq to discuss critical climate-related topics, such as environmental education, water and climate resilience, sustainable waste management, and green jobs and climate opportunities.
During the sessions, the students had the opportunity to present their views on how technology and innovative ideas can contribute to improving the lives of individuals and communities affected by climate change. They also gained experience by highlighting the importance of artificial intelligence and data analysis in predicting climate risks and guiding appropriate solutions, the role of digital learning platforms in empowering youth with environmental knowledge, and the need for clean, low-cost technological solutions for the most vulnerable regions.
This experience was a valuable opportunity for the students to actively contribute to building a more sustainable and climate-resilient future for Iraq.
