Students from the Department of Radiological Imaging Technologies Continue Their Weekly Clinical Training at Erbil Smart City Hospital

On Wednesday, September 23, 2026, fourth-year students from the Department of Radiological Imaging Technologies at Cihan University-Erbil continued their weekly clinical training at Erbil Smart City Hospital, under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Naveed Abdul Karimi. This department is keen to carry out this training regularly to strengthen the practical side of its students’ education.

Upon arrival, the students were received by radiology technician Ali Muddather, and this week’s training focused on introducing them to additional advanced imaging devices alongside those they had previously trained on. They were trained on the key protocols for operating the Magnetic Resonance Imaging device, including correctly positioning patients within the machine, and adjusting the technical settings required for each type of scan. They also underwent hands-on training on the mobile C-arm imaging device used in interventional procedures, following its setup and operation during an actual procedure.

The students later learned about the process of receiving and analyzing radiological images at the department’s workstations. In this session, the students practiced reading initial images and understanding how they are stored and processed within the hospital’s electronic system, with guidance from the hospital’s technicians, who provided a thorough explanation of each step.
