Students from the Department of Radiological Imaging Technologies Visit Al-Qalaa Center for Ultrasound and Diagnostic Imaging

The Department of Radiological Imaging Technologies at Cihan University–Erbil organized a scientific visit for second-year students to Al-Qalaa Center for Ultrasound and Diagnostic Imaging on Monday, January 26, 2026. The visit was supervised by Assistant Lecturer Abdul Aleem and Laboratory Assistant Parzin Kamal.

The students were welcomed by Dr. Ahmed Diyaa, a radiologist, who provided a clear and practical explanation of the digital radiography systems used at the center. The students learned about digital X-ray machines and their role in diagnosing fractures, bone disorders, and chest diseases. They were also introduced to MRI machines, which are used to image soft tissues and the nervous system, as well as the DEXA device, which is used to measure bone density and diagnose osteoporosis.

In addition, the students were introduced to the working environment of the radiology department and the organization of daily tasks, beginning with receiving patients, preparing them for imaging procedures, and completing examinations. They also learned the proper and respectful ways to interact with patients and visitors, the importance of clear communication, and methods for ensuring patient comfort and safety. Furthermore, the significance of radiation safety and the protection of both patients and staff was emphasized.

At the end of the visit, the students expressed their sincere appreciation to the center’s management and staff for their warm welcome, cooperation, and the valuable information provided throughout the visit.
