In line with its social responsibility and in support of the Sustainable Development Goals and the “Scientific Zakat” initiative adopted by Cihan University-Erbil, the university launched a distinctive cultural initiative aimed at supporting school libraries and enriching knowledge for younger generations.
On January 14, 2026, a student delegation from the Business Administration Department visited Al-Nasr School for Distinguished Girls under the Erbil Representation. The visit was sponsored by the Head of the Department, Assistant Professor Dr. Hawkar Q. Birdawod, and supervised by Assistant Professor Dr. Qusay H. Al-Salami.
The delegation was warmly welcomed by the school principal, Ms. Lina Saadi Lefteh, and the teaching staff, who expressed their happiness with this initiative that embodies the spirit of cooperation between the university and educational institutions.
The visit culminated a cultural project adopted by the Business Administration Department under the university’s patronage, where over 70 books from the publications of Cihan University’s Publishing and Printing House were delivered. The collection covered diverse topics in literature, law, administration, accounting, and politics, in three languages: Arabic, Kurdish, and English.
On this occasion, the school principal stated: “We thank Cihan University-Erbil and the Business Administration Department for this generous gesture, which not only enriches our library but also promotes a culture of reading and research among our students, representing a living model of constructive partnership between higher education and the community”.
This step reinforces the university’s role as an active partner in community development, paving the way for more joint initiatives that serve the education sector and enrich the cultural environment in the region.
