Students of Law Department Held a Seminar Entitled “Establishing the Kurdish State- Opportunities and Challenges Faced
On 16 February 2022, the Department of Law at Cihan University-Erbil organized a seminar entitled: Establishing the Kurdish State – Opportunities and Challenges under the supervision of a group of professors. The seminar was presented by three main students there are Diyar Seif El-Din, Beav Osman Qader, and Ahmed Fattah Hussein.
The objective of the seminar was to get the students to explain the elements of the Kurdistan state. Followed by the procedures needed to establish the Kurdistan state from a legal point of view, international legal system, and its conditions according to the system of the United Nations Organization. At the beginning of the seminar, the students explained about political changes in Kurdistan region during and after the First World War.
The students also shared about the Sykes-Pico agreement in 1916 and the political changes that led to the division of Kurdistan into four countries and regions, which are Iraq, Iran, Turkey, and Syria. In addition to that, the students also provided in-depth explanations on how the Kurdistan state was established and the challenges faced on political, economic, regional, internal, and international levels.
At the end of the seminar, the students participated actively in question and answering sessions.
