The 4th International Conference on Administrative and Financial Sciences held at Cihan University-Erbil
Under the auspices of Dr. Aram Mohammed Qadir, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Cihan University-Erbil organized its fourth international conference on Administrative and Financial Sciences in cooperation with University of Lodz, Poland.
with the presence of the representative of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the Kurdistan Region, and a significant number of academics, researchers, experts and university lecturers, began on Wednesday, May 3rd, 2023. The conference opened by a one-minute silence in recognition of the soul of Kurdistan Martyrs and several speeches were presented at the beginning of the ceremony.”
Prof. Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi, president of Cihan University-Erbil, delivered a speech on the occasion. After welcoming the representative of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the Kurdistan Region, the Deputy Minister of Commerce and Industry, General Directors of the Ministry and other guests, Dr Amjad said: “considering the difficult economic, administrative and financial situation that the world is facing in the era of modernity and technology, we must all find effective and sustainable solutions to improve economic performance and financial management.’’ He added that there is innovation for economic management and planning, in order to achieve sustainable development and strong economic growth.
In another part of his speech, the President of Cihan University-Erbil pointed out the different topics of the conference and revealed that the academic conference has focused on five main topics, which reflect the current economic and administrative situation and the future of societies in the digital age. The topics included administrating organizations in the modern era, accounting and auditing in the technology era, contemporary management and quantitative methods, financial systems and digital economy, and the fifth topic is about digital marketing.
Prof. Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi announced the detailed preparations for the conference to the public and said, “I am delighted to announce the opening of this conference, which warmly welcomed by the professors, researchers, and experts in the related fields from the world’s leading universities. For this conference, 63 academic articles submitted to the conference committee. After evaluating the papers, 49 articles were approved and 14 were rejected.”
“The number of approved scientific articles received from reputable universities in Kurdistan, Iraq, and other universities around the world is as follows: 10 papers from universities in Kurdistan Region, 24 from universities in Iraq, and 15 from top universities from Britain, Poland, Turkey, Qatar, Jordan, Cyprus, Syria, Lebanon, Sudan, Libya, and Algeria. The Keynote speakers who participated in our conference are from four continents, including Britain, Poland, Cyprus, and Sudan”.
Regarding the global ranking and the status of Cihan University-Erbil, Prof. Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi, president of Cihan University-Erbil, said, ” To expand the scope of international relations in the academic year 2022-2023, we have achieved remarkable scientific and academic success, and holding this international conference with the University of Lodz, Poland is a practical step in this direction. In addition, our university continues its scientific efforts to become a member of international institutions and gain the trust of organizations, unions and associations for higher education at different international and regional levels. Our latest achievement is membership in the International Association of Universities (IAU), which is affiliated to UNESCO and has been given special advisory status by the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). It has now become a leading global association of universities, institutions and higher education organizations around the world.”
Finally, on behalf of the Presidency of Cihan University-Erbil, Prof. Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi, wished success to the conference and reiterated his promise that Cihan University-Erbil will always be open to scientists and academics in order to activate the research movement Scientific in different fields.
On the same occasion, Professor Dr. Thomas Oriszik delivered a speech on behalf of the president of Lodz University. In his speech, besides appreciating the importance of the conference, he highlighted the academic relations of their university with Cihan University-Erbil and the coordination with Dr. Amjad. He stated that they were pleased to hold a joint conference in the field of administrative and financial sciences with a leading university and to discuss the latest financial and management developments. He expressed his gratitude to all those who cooperated in the success of the conference.
Later, Dr. Sabah Ibrahim Wais, Advisor to the Minister of MHE, on behalf of Dr. Aram Mohammed Qadir, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, delivered a speech. He stated that it was a pleasure to participate in this valuable conference on behalf of Dr. Aram Mohammed Qadir, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, as the conference would create a strong relationship between professors, researchers and students of Cihan University-Erbil with a foreign university, the University of Lodz in Poland.
Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research emphasized the position of Cihan University-Erbil as a private university in Kurdistan Region and said: “Cihan University-Erbil has a distinct place, especially in the field of private education. In this regard, Dr. Aram Mohammed Qadir, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, congratulated the Cihan University-Erbil on becoming a member of the International Association of Universities (IAU), which is now a world-renowned association in the field of higher education This membership demonstrates that Cihan University-Erbil is moving towards internationalization, which is in line with the reforms of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research which aim to enable all universities to gain international recognition and participate in global scientific and educational activities.
Regarding the importance of the conference, the representative of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research said: “After 2003, the Kurdistan Region has faced many economic obstacles, in a way that the economy has become a weapon for the disappearance of the Region and our country. However, we believe that through our academic institutions we can identify these problems and obstacles and present them to the government and its various organizations so that we can make changes in terms of finance and economy to improve the situation in the Region and overcome the hurdles.” He added that the results of this conference would be the basis for the proposals that they can work on to find clearer and better ways to solve the financial problems they face.
Dr. Sabah Ibrahim Wais devoted another part of his speech to the significance of conducting scientific research. He pointed out that another issue in the Ministry of Higher Education, which we emphasize would be the purpose of conducting scientific research, since scientific research is basically used for many fields, for example, promoting academic titles. However, what is important to the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research is to conduct scientific research for the purpose of serving the Kurdish society, i.e. the results are used to serve the society in different sectors. This increases the importance of research, as it becomes a guide to solve any problems we encounter.
At the end of his speech, the representative of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research thanked Prof. Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi, president of Cihan University-Erbil, lecturers, researchers and University of Lodz, Poland for organizing and conducting the conference. He hoped that the results of the conference would be fruitful
After the opening speeches, the agenda of the conference began. Forty-nine papers will be presented by researchers through five different topics, and four keynote speakers will manage the conference.
