THE 4TH YEAR ARCHITECTURAL ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT STUDENTS VISITED GOMASPAN DAM

On 25 September 2022, a group of fourth-stage students from the Department of Architectural Engineering, Cihan University-Erbil visited Gomaspan Dam under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Sana Mohamed Omar, as part of the Architectural Design V subject requirements. One of the reasons for the selection of this site is to teach students how to design structures on mountain slopes and to develop them using the most suitable building techniques.

Upon arriving at Gomaspan Dam, the students met the manager of Senk Company, Mr. Abdullah Gardy, and the engineering staff. Mr. Abdullah toured Associate Professor Dr. Sana and the students of the site and gave them all the information. This includes answering all the questions asked by Assistant Professor Dr. Sana and the students on hotel projects, topography of the land, type of soil, and methods for protecting it from collapses that caused high water levels during the winter season.
