The Department of Architectural Engineering at Cihan University-Erbil Organized a Scientific Visit to Rizgari Hospital
On Wednesday, February 29, 2025, the Department of Architectural Engineering at Cihan University-Erbil organized a scientific visit for fourth-stage students to Rizgari Hospital, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Rashed Hamed Yaseen. The visit was conducted after obtaining the necessary approvals from the Public Health Directorate in the Kurdistan Region.
Upon arrival, the students were guided by the hospital’s Engineering Department head, Engineer Luqman Hussein. The tour included visits to various divisions and clinical units, starting with the outpatient department, which encompasses medical clinics and the emergency division. The tour then proceeded to the diagnostic division and the physiotherapy department, which features various treatments such as sports, electrical, and hydrotherapy.
Next, the students visited key hospital departments, including the internal operations theater, Intensive Care Units (ICU), the central sterilization division, and the maternity department. The visit concluded with an overview of the design of the medical inpatient wards, including essential service areas such as nursing stations, dietary units, and medical services for hospitalized patients.
During the visit, the students were given a comprehensive field tour to observe the functional relationships between various medical divisions and departments. They gained insights into the sequence of clinical services based on patient needs, starting with simple outpatient cases that are typically resolved through clinics, followed by more complex cases requiring diagnostic tests and treatments in nursing and pharmacy units. The tour also covered critical cases involving surgical intervention and inpatient care for further treatment and rehabilitation until the patient’s discharge.
The scientific visit was invaluable in familiarizing students with the hospital’s operational structure and functional relationships, both horizontally and vertically, which will assist them in their architectural design projects for the current semester.
At the end of the visit, Prof. Dr. Rashed Hamed Yaseen expressed his gratitude to Engineer Luqman Hussein for his assistance and guidance during the tour.
