The Department of Medical Microbiology Conducted a Scientific Visit to Mihrabani Hospital

On Tuesday, January 28, 2025, the Department of Medical Microbiology at Cihan University-Erbil conducted a scientific visit for third-year students to Mihrabani Private Hospital as part of their practical training in Quality Control and Laboratory Management, under the supervision of Dr. Faisal Farooq Sadeq.

During the visit, the students were warmly welcomed by Professor Dr. Hemdad Hawiz, Director of the Laboratory. He provided a comprehensive overview of the laboratory’s various sections and the range of diagnostic tests conducted daily to serve patients. Additionally, Prof. Dr. Hemdad elaborated on the techniques used to ensure quality control and effectively manage laboratory operations. He also discussed the protocols for preserving patient samples for extended periods to ensure their availability for future reference, while maintaining high-quality standards.

The students found the visit highly informative, as it deepened their understanding of hospital quality control regulations and laboratory management procedures.

At the end of the visit, Dr. Faisal Farooq Sadeq expressed his sincere appreciation to the hospital director and the head of the laboratory for their hospitality and for providing the students with this valuable learning opportunity.
