Department of Medical Microbiology Conducts Mental Health Awareness Workshop

On Thursday, 29 October 2026, the Department of Medical Microbiology at Cihan University–Erbil, in collaboration with Telemedicine Hub Company, conducted a Mental Health Awareness Workshop at the university’s VIP Hall.

The workshop was introduced by Ms. Hadeer Al-Naqeeb, an employee of Telemedicine Hub Company, and led by Dr. Elaf Jaff, a physician holding a Master’s degree in Psychological Therapies.

During the workshop, Dr. Elaf Jaff highlighted the importance of mental health as an essential component of overall well-being. She addressed common myths and misconceptions surrounding mental health and emphasized the importance of understanding emotional and psychological needs. Her discussion encouraged greater awareness and promoted a more informed approach to mental health concerns.

Dr. Elaf Jaff also provided practical guidance on managing stress and maintaining emotional well-being. She discussed the importance of supporting oneself and others when facing emotional or psychological difficulties and explained how to recognize situations in which professional assistance may be necessary.

The workshop concluded by emphasizing the importance of mental health awareness, effective stress management, and seeking professional support when needed.
