The Department of General Education Students Visited Lana Center for Autism
On Wednesday, 28th February 2024, a group of second-year students from the Department of General Education at Cihan University-Erbil, under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Rozhan Ali Khidr, visited the Lana Center for Autism. The purpose of this trip was to familiarize the students with strategies for interacting with children with autism, emphasizing the use of educational psychology to better understand the psychological aspects of individuals with autism, particularly during moments of anger and tension.
Upon arrival, they received a warm welcome from Dr. Omar Abdulfattah and Dr. Amani Wahid. Subsequently, Dr. Amani provided a brief introduction about the center, shedding light on the challenges encountered in working with individuals with autism. Then, Assistant Lecturer Rozhan Ali Khidr discussed the pivotal role and significance of educational psychology in dealing with cognitive, emotional, and psychological aspects of children with autism.
As the visit concluded, Assistant Lecturer Rozhan Ali Khidr extended gratitude to the center’s supervisors on behalf of the department and students, expressing best wishes for their continued success.
