The Department of International Relations and Diplomacy at Cihan University–Erbil Organized a Visit to the Kurdistan Region Parliament

On 25 November 2025, the Department of International Relations and Diplomacy at Cihan University–Erbil organized a field and scientific visit for its students to the Kurdistan Region Parliament. Under the supervision of Dr. Rashid Mikael Mohammed, a group of students visited the Parliament, where they were warmly welcomed by the Parliament’s advisor, Dr. Yassin Mahmoud.

The first stop of the visit was the Protocol Department, where the students were received by the Head of Protocol Affairs, Mr. Awni Hamad Ali. He provided a detailed explanation of the key protocol activities carried out in the Kurdistan Region Parliament, tailored specifically for students of International Relations and Diplomacy.

During another part of the visit, the students met with Mr. Mohammed Taher Birani, one of the library administrators. He guided them through the Parliament’s library and gave them comprehensive information on how the library’s contents are organized. He also explained various methods for obtaining academic sources to support scientific research.

The visit ended with a tour of the Parliament’s meeting hall, where the students learned about the procedures of parliamentary sessions and the seating arrangements designated for members of Parliament.
