The Department of Law at Cihan University-Erbil Organized a Special Event
On Sunday, May 4, 2025, the Department of Law at Cihan University – Erbil organized a special event to mark International Workers’ Day, which is observed on the first of May each year. The event aimed to express gratitude for the significant role that workers play in supporting the university’s educational and administrative processes.
The event took place in Academia Hall, located in the Faculty of Law and International Relations building, and was attended by several faculty members, staff, and students. Dr. Omar Zubair, Head of the Department of Law, delivered a speech in which he expressed his and the university’s pride in the daily efforts of the university’s workers across various departments. He emphasized that the success of any institution depends on the cooperation and integration of all its components—chief among them being the workforce. He added that workers are the backbone of any institution; they create a conducive environment for work and study and contribute to maintaining order, cleanliness, and safety on the university campus. He noted that celebrating this day is an opportunity to express deep respect for them.
At the end of the event, symbolic gifts were distributed to all university workers in recognition of their efforts and dedication to their duties. The workers expressed their thanks and gratitude for this initiative, which reflects the spirit of appreciation and mutual respect within the university.
The attendees including students and professors also expressed their happiness in participating in a humanitarian event that honors a segment of the community that truly deserves support and appreciation. They stressed that Labor Day should remain a lasting occasion to renew commitment to the values of work, justice, and solidarity.
