The Department of Media at Cihan University-Erbil Organized a Workshop on Fundamentals of Writing for Digital Media

On Wednesday, September 17, 2025, the Department of Media at Cihan University-Erbil organized a workshop on Fundamentals of Writing for Digital Media as part of its ongoing academic and scientific efforts to enhance students’ professional skills and competencies. The workshop, held in the Cihan Academia Hall, was supervised by Assistant Lecturer Ahmed Jamal Hama Karim and presented by Hastyar Qadir, the Iraqi Desk Editor at Rudaw Media Network.

During the session, students were introduced to the process of writing news for digital platforms, the distinctive features of digital media content, and their influence on writing style. The program also highlighted the fundamental rules and principles of digital media writing, techniques for creating compelling and impactful headlines, and strategies for producing effective content for social media platforms.

Participants also took part in practical exercises on news writing, headline development, and innovative approaches to drafting digital media content.

The workshop ended with the distribution of certificates to all participants, recognizing their commitment and achievement, and encouraging them to continue their professional and personal growth. The supervising lecturer expressed gratitude to Hastyar Qadir, Iraqi Desk Editor at Rudaw Media Network, for presenting the topic and leading the training.
