The Department of Optometry and Vision Techniques Conducted Eye Examination Training at Swedish Hospital
On Wednesday, October 8, 2025, the Department of Optometry and Vision Techniques at Cihan University–Erbil organized a training activity on eye examination equipment for second-year students at Swedish Hospital in Erbil.
During the activity, under the supervision of Dr. Anas Dhari, the students were received by Musab Fikri, who provided a brief overview of the hospital’s services, with a particular focus on visual diagnosis, treatment, and eye health. Following this, Dr. Anas Dhari conducted practical training on several eye-related devices and techniques. This included using a Retinoscope to identify refractive errors and a Prism Bar to measure strabismus angles and assess fused binocular vision.
As part of their training, students guided by Dr. Dhari and the hospital’s specialized eye staff learned to perform the Maddox Rod Test to detect latent ocular deviations and the Worth Four Dots Test to evaluate binocular and double vision.
In appreciation of this practical training opportunity, Dr. Dhari expressed his gratitude to the hospital staff for their support and collaboration.
