The Department of Translation held The English Festival
Department of Translation – Cihan university held The English Festival from December 8th – 12th 2019. The festival essentially focused on assessing students’ English Speaking Skills. all the students of first year took part in the activity.
All the 55 students were divided into 11 groups with 5 members in each group. One of the member of each group is identified as the leader for the group to support and give direction to the members of his/her group. The assessment was divided into three rounds for three days. And the students were assessed on three parameters – Content, Fluency and Body language. On day 1 the first round of assessment was conducted. All the 11 groups were assigned 11 different topics a day prior to the assessment. Similarly, on day 2 as well 11 different topics were assigned to all the 11 groups. On day 3, all the groups were asked to speak on a topic of their choice.
In short, The English Festival – Speaking Assessment was a grand success and it witnessed active participation of the students.
