The Media Department students pay a visit to the elderly care house in Erbil

On Tuesday, November 28, 2023, students from Cihan University – Erbil, second stage media department visited the Elderly Care House under the guidance of assistant lecturer Delan Ismail Mawlud. The purpose of the visit was to provide students with an in-depth understanding of how to interact and develop relationships with the elderly while also serving as a component of the communication skills course.

The supervisory teacher and students were welcomed by the elderly care house staff، then by Arsalan Osman Rasul، a social researcher. Hero Sardar، a psychologist، presented a brief summary of Erbil’s elderly care house and referred to the year of establishment of the house and how to receive elderly and disabled people. They discussed how to handle old people at home, making sure they are properly served and under continual observation.

“In the field of science, it is important for students to be fully trained practically about communication skills,” explained Delan Ismail, the supervisory teacher in this case. “She also mentioned that the scientific visit today is important for the students of the second stage in the media department of Cihan University-Erbil because they were practically familiar with the relationship of an important study of society, which they are elderly people. She concluded her speech by thanking the center staff on behalf of the head of the media department.
