The Volleyball Student Team of the Department of Physical Education and Sports Outperform the Football Student Team of the Department of Law
In the presence of Professor Dr. Amjad Sabir Al-Delawi, President of Cihan University-Erbil, Dr. Abdul Sattar Abdulkareem Vice President of the University for Administrative and Student Affairs; Dr. Ayad Hazem, Vice President of the University for Scientific Affairs; Dr. Ahmed Abd Awn, Head of the Department of Physical Education and Sports Science, and a faculty members, the final match of the Cihan University-Erbil the University Volleyball League kicked off on Thursday, 5/2/2026. The final match saw the teams of the Department of Physical Education and Sports Science and the Medical Techniques Department face each other.
Initially, a minute of silence was observed for the souls of the martyrs of Kurdistan, followed by playing of the national anthem “Ey Reqîb”, after which the match ceremonies began.
In the first set, both teams emerged very strongly and displayed a high tactical level from both sides. The team of students from the Department of Physical Education and Sports Science leveraged the physical expertise and proficiency of its students to manage to impose its control over the course of the match. In the first set, after intense struggle and fierce competition, the team of students from the Department of Physical Education and Sports Science was able to finish that set in their favor with a score of (27-25).
In the second set, due to a drop in the physical proficiency of the team from the Medical Techniques Department, settling the outcome became somewhat easier for the team of students from the Department of Physical Education and Sports Science. They ended that set with a score of (25-12), largely deciding the match in their favor.
In the third set, the students from the Department of Physical Education and Sports Science appeared with a calmer and more stable morale, and the coach gave all players of his team a chance to play. In that set as well, they managed to win with a score of (25-20) to become the champions of the Cihan University-Erbil Internal Volleyball League and to crown their achievement with the title.
