White Coat Ceremony Welcomed First-Year Students from the Medical Microbiology and Biomedical Sciences Departments
On Monday, December 23, 2024, the Medical Microbiology and Biomedical Sciences Departments at Cihan University-Erbil jointly welcomed their first-year students in a memorable White Coat Ceremony at Paky Hospital in Erbil. This event was conducted at the Conference Hall in the hospital and symbolized the beginning of the students’ academic and professional journeys in their respective fields.
Supervised by the head of both departments, the ceremony was attended by distinguished faculty members, students’ families, and hospital staff. Dr. Saleem Saaed Zangana, Chairman of the Board of Paky Hospital, warmly welcomed the students and then delivered his keynote address. He emphasized the critical roles of medical microbiologists and biomedical scientists in healthcare, congratulated the students on their entry into the programs, and encouraged them to excel. He later ceremoniously donned the white coats to the students, symbolizing their initiation.
The event also featured a pledge-reading segment, led by Dr. Chra Noory Abdullah, which saw students collectively reciting their commitment to the values and responsibilities of their respective professions. The ceremony highlighted the importance of dedication and ethics in their future roles within the medical field.
